Description:
The Point of Care Testing (POCT) Team within Berkshire and Surrey Pathology Services offer Partnered Trusts an on-site, Rapid Respiratory Service that tests for Influenza, RSV and COVID with a fast turn around.
The potholder will oversee services at the six hospital sites within the Berkshire Surrey Pathology network of hospitals including:
Frimley Health - (Wexham Park and Frimley Park Hospitals),
Royal Surrey County Hospital - Guildford
Royal Berkshire Hospital - Reading
Ashford and St Peters Hospitals – Chertsey
East Surrey Hospital - Reigate
The post-holder will be an HCPC-registered, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and skilled Biomedical Scientist, with a background in a pathology discipline relevant to POCT, preferably with POCT and Microbiology experience.
They will lead in the provision of efficient, effective and reliable Rapid Respiratory services to users within the BSPS network.
This is a fixed-term contract ending 31/03/2025, will the possibility of extension.
