Job Summary
TYLin is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer affiliated with Toronto or Vaughan, ON offices. The Senior Bridge Engineer provides engineering support to the Senior Project Managers. The primary scope of this role is to develop bridge and structure designs for local agencies and design-build clients, deliver projects on time, on budget and with high quality. The role may involve project management aspects as well. This position also supervises junior engineers and intermediate engineers.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Perform design and analysis of complex concrete and steel bridge structures. Experience with long span bridges is an asset.
  • Utilize advanced structural engineering and analysis capabilities, including ability to perform nonlinear analysis including seismic analysis.
  • Manage smaller projects and clients to ensure projects and delivered on time and budget and with high quality.
  • Interface with clients for project delivery.
  • Contribute to the proposal preparation effort for bridge design projects as needed.
  • Other assignments as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering license in Ontario is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience required.
  • Working knowledge of design codes such as CAN/CSA S6, MTO Standards, AASHTO, ACI, CISC, etc.
  • Experience with working and managing MTO projects, or similar public agencies.
  • Experience leading bridge condition inspections is an asset.
  • Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
