The Role:
Cundall are looking for an experienced Building Management System (BMS) design engineer that has experience with either Process Logic Controllers (PLC) and Supervisory Controls And Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems or Direct Digital Controllers (DDC) and BMS Supervisory systems.
Experience in the data centre sector and understanding of Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) is required.
An excellent knowledge of the control of mechanical plant and systems and the monitoring of electrical equipment is a must.
The BMS design engineer will work with the Client and design team (architect, civil, electrical, IT, mechanical, public health, structural engineers, etc.) to create data centre designs, make changes, comment on submittals, witness software bench tests, witness factory witness tests, review, and comment on the installation and witness the completed installation.
In addition, you will work in the Building Automation team (currently 16 team members globally) and advise on and develop technical standards, details and specifications relating to controls and provide advice on appropriate control strategies.
The Data Centre’s are not always in the UK, weeklong business trips to the Data Centre’s occur could four to six times per year.
The Skills:
Having gained experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) (maintenance, commissioning, programming and/or project management etc.) and Building Services Automated Controls within either a Consultancy or Contracting organisation.
Ideally you have a demonstrable track record working with building management technologies, but more crucially – you have the enthusiasm to learn and develop your existing skills, and a desire to perform at the highest standard.
