ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic understanding of contract provisions, especially around licensing and ownership.
- Experience managing talent and influencer contracts.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to identify legal issues early in the process.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Problem-solving mindset and comfort in a fast-paced environment.
- 5-10 years of related experience, ideally in an agency.
- Fluent German and English skills are required.
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Business Affairs Manager, you’ll collaborate closely with the Brand Creative, Production, Influencer, and other teams to manage projects with minimal oversight. We’re looking for a new team member to support our growing global Business Affairs presence in Germany. You will report to the Director of Global Business Affairs and help to elevate and expand the Business Affairs function within Edelman Germany.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recommend and support the implementation of policies and processes regarding risk management and contract administration.
- Review and facilitate complex agreements, particularly in talent, celebrity, influencer, and brand partnerships.
- Confidentiality and discretion are crucial in handling all matters and documents.
- Navigate redline reviews and contract negotiations between various stakeholders to close deals.
- Provide counsel and risk mitigation strategies for content programs and contracts in digital, experiential, print, and influencer.
- Identify and flag risks, particularly related to intellectual property and regulatory requirements.
- Review and provide guidance on Statements of Work.
- Work closely with production teams and legal departments to resolve any legal or liability issues.
- Manage third-party clearances and licenses, including music, images, software, etc.
- Facilitate production and talent invoice approvals and payments.
- Ensure all finished assets comply with legal requirements before delivery.
- Manage insurance and documentation for third-party licenses.
