Description:

Join the change. Together, we’ll make history.
As we keep the lights on for over four million customers and move towards a more sustainable way of life, it’s an exciting time to be at AGL. We’re re-imagining how homes and business live and work across the country and we want you to be a part of it. This moment will define our time, and your career as you work alongside Australia’s best and brightest minds. You’ll grow and learn in a collaborative, safe and supportive environment and play your part in changing the course of tomorrow.
Everyone at AGL is an important part of building a better energy future and we want you to join in.
About the Role:
As a Senior Business Analyst in the Virtual Power Plant (VPP) team you will work with engineering and software technical teams to support the Agile delivery of optimised VPP orchestration initiatives. You will take end to end accountability for the analytical activities throughout the lifecycle of the delivery of multiple initiatives, predominantly on the API and back end of systems.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to drive the definition of initiatives’ objectives and requirements
  • Define how the success of an initiative shall be measured and implement an appropriate monitoring plan
  • Break down initiatives into epics and stories, using INVEST or similar frameworks
  • Ensure end to end process integrity is maintained across multiple systems and business units
  • Facilitate Agile estimation, prioritisation, and planning workshops, identifying and managing inter-team, inter-train, and other external dependencies
  • Ensure quality is built into the end-product by leading quality ceremonies throughout delivery – story time, kick-offs & product walk throughs

About You:
You will be an experienced Business Analyst with a strong technical communication and facilitation approach to delivering high quality outcomes. Your ability to deal with ambiguity and navigate a solution, along with your ability to balance multiple competing priorities, will set you up for success.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Extensive experience in delivering multiple complex initiatives throughout the lifecycle in an Agile environment, preferably Scaled Agile
  • High level understanding of systems integration terminology, including concepts such as NFR’s, API’s, Database Schemas and Data Types
  • Exceptional time management skills in prioritising tasks and managing multiple stakeholders’ time effectively
  • The ability to understand and effectively explain technical requirements to non-technical individuals, and vice versa
  • Advanced negotiation skills when diplomatically interacting with engineers, internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • BA experience in the energy market is beneficial but not essential
  • An inquisitive mindset

At AGL, we offer a wide range of benefits including:

  • Flexible working options including hybrid work
  • Discounts on energy, telcos and solar plans
  • Participate in Energise - our reward & recognition program
  • Access 20 weeks of paid parental leave for the primary carer
  • Access to an additional week of recharge leave per year
  • Play an active role in our diversity & inclusion initiatives
