As a Senior BA within DWP Digital you will lead business analysis activities across a number of teams or a complex area of work in the delivery of service improvements.
You will use your experience of delivery methodologies, translating business and user needs into deliverables working collaboratively to define and achieve value outcomes.
You will work with senior business and project stakeholders and will facilitate the setting of project priorities in line with strategic and business goals.
You will be a leading figure within the BA community and will play an instrumental role in our active & dynamic Community of Practice.
You will be encouraged to continually grow your management capabilities and will support colleagues to take responsibility for their own learning and development in line with business needs and strategic direction.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Senior BA working within DWP Digital these are some of the things you will be doing:

  • Work on large, complex products or services, or across a number of products or services simultaneously.
  • Lead workshops, interviews and focus groups to effectively understand business problems and user needs within large complex products or services.
  • You will communicate effectively across senior technical and business stakeholders, ensuring the understanding of requirements and acceptance criteria is aligned.
  • You will understand the business processes and activities that impact and that are impacted by the product or service whilst developing an understanding of how the product or service aligns with the wider strategy of the department.
  • Lead Business Analyst activities and initiatives and will champion continual learning & development within the Business Analyst community.
  • You will be a leading member of the Business Analyst community, taking on leadership and line management responsibilities of Business Analyst’s. Additionally, you will play a significant role in capability building and recruitment when required.
  • Encourage and promote our delivery methodologies, setting standards across the function and working to educate the BA teams working across the functions on principles, methods and tools to support their development.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

When giving details in your employment history and personal statement you should highlight your experience in line with essential criteria below:

  • Significant experience of working at Senior Business Analyst level (as detailed in our job description) leading business analysis activities within complex projects / environments.
  • Experience of supporting more junior Business Analysts to take responsibility for their own learning and development and building their BA toolkit.

During the Interview stage you will be assessed against the essential criteria below:

  • Significant experience of working at Senior BA level and leading business analysis activities within complex projects / environments.
  • Use a wide range of tools and techniques to identify improvements and make recommendations.
  • Support colleagues to take responsibility for their own learning and development.

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in their DWP office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and your office will be your contractual place of work. The number of days that anyone will be able to work at home will be determined primarily by business need but personal circumstances and other relevant circumstances will also be taken into account. If you are successful, any opportunities for hybrid working, including whether a hybrid working arrangement is suitable for you, will be discussed with you prior to you taking up your post.
