YOU WILL HAVE DEMONSTRATED WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF

  • A proven track record of excellent interpersonal skills to lead, develop, and manage extensive consultative and co-operative working relationship with program managers, senior managers, and partners responsible for planning, research, and information systems, and with other provincial agencies, jurisdictions, and/or the federal government.
  • A proven track record to acquire knowledge of information technology architectures including integration and application software quickly and adeptly, interoperability standards, database, subsystem components and software.
  • A proven track record of group facilitation.
  • Excellent written skills to communicate and present options and alternatives and bring forward recommendations to both clinical and IT professionals.
  • Excellent documentation skills to produce proposals, charters, business requirements, test plans and schedules.
  • Experience working within an integrated IT/Health support environment is an asset.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional designation is an asset.
    The knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a post-secondary Degree or Diploma in business, health, computer science, or related field, plus a minimum of five (5) or more years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role in an integrated support environment. An IIBA entry Certificate in Business Analysis (ECBA - Gold) with an equivalent combination of experience may also be considered.

TECHNICAL

  • Convert business requirements into technical specification for data integration and reports.
  • Create and maintain Interoperability standards, profiles, and implementation documentation.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy business concepts (community and acute settings) is required.
    A certification in project management methodologies will be considered an asset.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Drug and Pharmacy Services, the Senior Business Analyst is responsible for supporting strategic health initiatives related to pharmacy services through technology, focusing on quality.
As part of the Drug and Pharmacy Service delivery team, you will plan and facilitate engagements with stakeholders both internally and externally. You will be expected to lead projects and initiatives, including gathering, validating, and managing business requirements, clear and concise documentation, implementation planning, training development and execution, incident management and support. You must have a passion for customer service and an aptitude for converting customer requirements into the most optimal solution.
The Senior Business Analyst is technically sound, with a broad base of knowledge, experience, and the ability to relate technical issues to the underlying needs of the business. The role will involve being able to grasp the implications of technical details rapidly and understand their inter-relationships and the impact on the environment into which the solution will be deployed. You will work in an environment of interconnected systems, and understanding the up and downstream implications of your work will be of utmost importance.

TYPICAL DAILY DUTIES

  • Gather and document business processes, requirements, and specifications.
  • Liaise with end users, stakeholders, and third-party service providers.
  • Provide support and training for technology solutions.
  • Ensure that recommendations include sufficient controls.
  • Identify opportunities where business processes can be enhanced through the implementation of technology or by other techniques.
  • Participate in and lead projects as needed to ensure that services are planned for and smoothly transitioned into Support Services.
