The Senior Business Analyst plays a pivotal role within the Licensing and Compliance Monitoring Branch, helping shape the ongoing transformation of the Public Health system in Alberta. With an expanding mandate for regulatory compliance monitoring and enforcement, the Senior Business Analyst will have the opportunity to lead change initiatives, analyzing current practices and driving the development of innovative IT solutions and processes. This role directly supports the Office of Public Reporting in enhancing reporting and data collection systems to ensure compliance and performance standards are met.
THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED:
- Strong analytical ability, data interpretation and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Query.
- Statistical analysis and working with large, complex databases.
- Data management.
- Data driven risk assessments and application.
- Ability to research issues accurately to identify and solve problems.
- Strong knowledge of change management, systems development, and information management methodologies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
- Project planning, monitoring, and management skills, with a focus on process design and transition management.
- High level of motivation, creativity, and initiative.
- Ability to recognize and deal accordingly with potential political issues.
- Ability to interpret legislation and internal regulations.

- Strong MS office software skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including strong presentation skills.
THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE IS CONSIDERED AS ASSETS:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the Alberta Health business plan and objectives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Continuing Care Act and regulations, Accommodation Standards, and the Continuing Care Health Service Standards.
THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE WILL BE GIVEN PREFERENCE:
- Experience in envisioning new Information Technology Systems Management applications, Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions, Microsoft Power Platforms, and Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Advanced data analysis skills and visualization using Excel, Power Query and Power BI.
- Solid knowledge of the governing legislation, policies and related business applications that support the branch’s activities.
