Description:
We are looking for a Senior Business Analyst for a 12-month contract position in Calgary, Alberta with possible extensions. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Hybrid schedule, at least 4 days in the office. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. It is NOT a remote role.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar capacity
- Direct working experience or project experience in business areas or functions
- Oil&Gas/Energy industry experience would be considered an asse
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will demonstrate strong technical and business acumen, collaborating closely with business and functional teams to plan, manage, coordinate, and execute assigned projects effectively. You will leverage industry best practices to ensure seamless project execution, with a particular focus on transitions to operations and the development of robust processes and procedures.
The ideal candidate will excel in eliciting business requirements, facilitating workshops, and developing comprehensive process descriptions and procedural documentation. Proficiency in creating workflows, documenting standards and policies, and managing complex business scenarios is essential. Additionally, the successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional ability to navigate dynamic stakeholder groups and synchronize competing corporate initiatives to drive alignment and success.
Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in process reviews or development and updates to or creation of associated documentation working with stakeholders
- Participate in standards and process creation, reviews, updates, development and documentation
- Deliver and/or participate in standards, policies or process education and awareness
- Successfully engage, drive and facilitate multiple initiatives and deliverables simultaneously
- Collaborate with project team members including subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs
- Manage and execute on required stakeholder and client engagement across project deliverables to support project plan and scope outline
- Work closely with the People Readiness team (OCM, Communications, Learning) to help identify / validate stakeholder change impacts, provide technical review of communications and contribute to training curriculum and learning content
- Manage and participate in Transition to Operations scope and activities for services and/or products built by the project team
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into detail, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artifacts as needed: functional requirements (business requirements document), use cases, workflow diagrams, and context diagrams
