Description:

Company Description
Nine is Australia’s largest locally owned media company – the home of Australia’s most trusted and loved brands spanning News, Sport, Lifestyle, and Entertainment. We pride ourselves on creating the best content, accessed by consumers when and how they want – across Publishing, Broadcasting and Digital.
Nine’s assets include the 9Network, major mastheads such as The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and The Australian Financial Review, radio stations 2GB, 3AW, 4BC and 6PR, digital properties such as nine.com.au, 9Now, 9Honey, Pedestrian.TV, Drive, subscription video platform Stan and a majority investment in Domain Group.
Our Purpose: We shape culture by sparking conversations, challenging perspectives, and entertaining our communities.
We bring people together by celebrating the big occasions and connecting the everyday moments. Australia belongs here. We bring our purpose to life via three shared values: We walk the talk, turn over every stone and keep it human.
Job Description
Over the past few years our dedicated and experienced team of Business Analysts have been involved in many high profile and award winning projects, helping to drive the transformation of Nine into an integrated media company. 9Galaxy and 9Voyager are a couple of the key projects delivered, but with a constantly evolving media landscape, the opportunities for new and exciting initiatives are endless.
As a Senior Agile Business Analyst working closely with our development team you will drive innovative solutions which will add value and help to grow our organization. Consulting right across the Nine business you will get exposure to a huge variety of projects, as well as smaller BAU initiatives. You will work with stakeholders at all levels (including executives), conducting discovery workshops, business process modelling and business needs analysis.

Day to day you will:

  • Lead major initiatives, ensuring the business process and technology solution are fully aligned with business goals and strategy.
  • Evaluate, analyse and communicate business requirements, business processes and solution designs clearly and concisely.
  • Engage with stakeholders at different levels, across various business units to gain business knowledge and understand their strategy and goals.
  • Break down large projects into deliverable epics/user stories that will evolve from minimum viable product to a fully developed solution.
  • Work collaboratively with the development team to deliver the best possible outcome for BAU activities and major initiatives.
  • Wear multiple hats within an agile team e.g. product owner, scrum master and occasionally as a tester.
  • Support the business in all stages of the SDLC, building a trust relationship with ability to influence.
  • Manage several internally developed products and ensure integration to third party systems is fully aligned with the products’ core business and technical principles.

Qualifications
You will be passionate about technology and possess the business acumen to drive innovative solutions, alongside cross functional teams of Engineers, QA, Product Managers, and Architects. You will have the confidence to discuss complex technical concepts, drive in technical documentation and to articulate them in a simple and clear way to business stakeholders.
You will be joining a team of 5+ other Business Analysts, so you will enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment, where everyone is encouraged to contribute new and innovative ideas. You will be flexible in your approach to work and capable of working on multiple projects at once. You will be motivated by the opportunity to work on such a diverse range of projects and excited by the broad business exposure on offer.

What we would like to see on your resume:

  • Demonstrated experience working on high-profile software integration/API initiatives as a Business Analyst
  • Knowledge and experience working with Mulesoft or other ESB products
  • High proficiency in using API platforms such as Postman to manage, document and test APIs
  • Experience in the implementation and configuration of enterprise systems such as CRMs and ERPs
  • Experienced in conducting detailed analysis of technical requirements documentation and application of data modelling techniques
  • The ability to effectively communicate functional and non-functional requirements to cross-functional agile squads using user stories and supporting documentation such as ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ process models, wireframes, use cases and user journey maps
  • Exposure to Agile software development projects, including the development of new applications
  • Experience in coordinating and supporting UAT activities involving internal stakeholders across multiple departments and external vendors

Nice to have:

  • Certification in Agile and/or Scrum framework is desirable (but not essential)
  • Past experience working in the Australian broadcast TV industry would be advantageous
