Description:

OVERVIEW

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will work with Project Managers, business unit leaders, cross-functional team members and other senior leadership roles to ensure that business and technical requirements for projects are documented, agreed, and delivered through all phases of the Project.
You will assist as a team player across a range of other project activities, including preparation of reports and briefs for Senior leadership consumption and decision making, coordinating resources, and other activities. This helps to balance the workload within the Portfolio and Squad teams, grow new skills and meet a culture of teamwork and collaboration. You will facilitate workshops for the business and technical requirements generated, gather feedback, adjust as required and obtain formal sign off from senior leadership and Sponsors, and other stakeholders as required.
You will be experienced in delivering quality documentation for both Business Requirements and their corresponding Functional Specifications (Technical Requirements) as well as screen flows, all at a high level of quality.
You will be experienced in project lifecycle standards, different Methodologies and how best to leverage tools and people to extract the right information, in the right way, to meet a common set of objectives.

You will be focused on delivering through appropriate standards and Practices within agreed scope, budget and timelines.

EXPERIENCE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • 5 plus years of Technical Business Analyst experience covering both Business Requirements and Technical Requirements
  • SQL skills and experience
  • Well practiced and experienced in project management fundamentals and how the Analyst role contributes to them
  • Experience creating reports, charts, and graphs appropriate for presentation to executive management
  • Experienced with Microsoft suite of tools and competent user of Service Now, Jira and SharePoint
  • Understanding, experience and qualification in Agile delivery practices
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with ambiguity and be self driven
  • Experience in presenting to Senior executives
  • Excellent analytical skills, presentation skills and oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the definition of business problems via in-depth investigation and gathering of technical and non-technical information.
  • Outline detailed business requirements and detailed technical requirements for a solution and ensure the delivered solution meets those business requirements.
  • Traceability between the technical and functional requirements and the development and then testing of same.
  • Identify stakeholders and facilitate discussions or workshops with the purpose of eliciting and understanding stakeholder needs, requirements, and priorities
  • Gather, validate and document business and technical requirements/use cases.
  • Analyse data to inform / validate opportunities and requirements
  • Model business processes and identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Analyse the system(s) impacted for points of change required and aspects the developers need to know in order to build the system with efficiency and without error
  • Understand the customer experience, how they may use the product/service and how that will influence both your Business and Technical Requirements
  • Apply creative thinking and work collaboratively with teams to solve business challenges, further supporting the documentation of clear, concise and accurate requirements.
  • Developing, maintaining, and improving Analyst methodologies and processes i.e. Contribute to Continuous improvement
  • Support/perform functional testing, investigating and feeding back issues to Developers
  • Ensure that testing is appropriately documented, with evidence recorded and working in close consultation with the Test Lead and Project Manager to ensure adequate test coverage and strong traceability
  • Be a natural leader in your field so you can guide, coach and develop team members on complex issues with practical workable approaches/solutions leading to long term skill growth.
  • Build productive and professional relationships with key stakeholders, other cross-functional team members and Senior Leaders.
  • Display role model behaviours with facilitation, communication, and collaboration
  • Identify, assess, and manage project governance applicable to your role
  • Be a role model for RAID management across the group, coach and develop skills and performance of RAID management.
