Description:
SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the PMO Director, the Business Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of solution implementations while adopting effective quality assurance practices with an Agile-Waterfall hybrid approach.
Working collaboratively, the Business Analyst’s services will specifically include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Prepares business requirements documents, business cases, briefing notes, evaluations, and presentations required to guide decision making, including through the client’s internal planning and approval process.
- Monitors and controls assigned project component progress and takes corrective actions when required.
- Defines and implements standards, approaches, and templates for business analysis, process definition, and process improvement.
- Assesses needs, impacts, feasibility, risks, cost benefit, and evaluation of options.
- Conducts joint planning sessions with clients to identify, analyze, and document business needs requiring technological solutions.
- Manages all requirements lifecycle activities for assigned requests.
- Defines and documents business processes in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Researches and develops business cases including technological alternatives, cost benefit analysis, revenue implications, program area resources, and policy/procedural enhancements.
- Supports project managers throughout the project life cycle.
- Provides advice to clients regarding problem resolution and support issues.
- Creates and/or maintains user knowledge base and provides training and post-implementation support to business units and external users.
The Business Analyst will also perform QA activities on operations and other ongoing or new engagements.
SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST MANDATORY SKILLS:
- 7+ years of recent relevant experience defining and documenting business requirements for applications and data
- 5+ years experience interacting professionally with a wide variety of people in diverse roles (e.g. executives, contractors, technical experts, users) to develop and implement automated business processes
- 1+ year experience working with Azure DevOps or Team Foundation Server for solution delivery
- Experience working effectively with non-technical end users as relates to testing, including writing business test cases, conducting functional testing, and supporting UAT
- Experience with Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid software delivery methodologies
- Ability to lead multi-discipline teams in conducting facilitation towards new requirements gathering, development of new business processes, continuous process improvements and appropriate documentation
- Knowledge of application design, development life cycle, IT security and change management processes
