Do your bit by joining our Business Improvement Team within the Wastewater function as a Senior Business Analyst.
What you’ll do
You’ll have strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions from various datasets and will be responsible for Managing Systems and Data that support management of the Business Improvement team and wider Wastewater Services.
Develop, implement, administer, and maintain reporting systems and data solutions to support best practice in the delivery of the Business Improvement team which satisfies Scottish Waters business needs.
Ensure that the interfaces and reports between Scottish Water systems enable the effective transfer of the data required by all parties and assist in development, or modification as required. Identify, specify, and help implement requirements for changes to systems and processes for the Business Improvement Team and that critical data is held uniquely and accurately in corporate systems.
What you’ll bring
You’ll bring a proven working experience as a Data Analyst with a Business Data Analyst skillset. Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to communicate complex findings in a clear, understandable manner to non-technical stakeholders.
Be driven to ensure that customer outcomes are delivered on time, efficiently and to the desired quality with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and tools.
Ideally, you would have knowledge of tools like SQL (for database querying), Excel (VBA), Python, or other statistical programming languages is also highly valuable. Skills in using visualisation tools like Power BI (DAX) , to create clear and compelling visual representations of data and an understanding of database systems and querying languages (SQL) to extract and manipulate data efficiently. solid foundation in statistics and probability theory to analyse data distributions, correlations, regressions with a willingness to support transition to new systems including System Data Migration, Business Change and Training of Users.

The not-so-small print
This role will be a Grade 7. If you’re new to Scottish Water, you’ll join us on a starting salary of £41,000. Performance-driven pay progression would then allow you to move through the range to a maximum of £51,970.
