Role Type: Contract To Hire. (US Citizens OR Green Card holders only)
Location: [Remote] - 10% Travel to Fort Lauderdale Area

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Kaizen is assisting a client, a cruise line located in South Florida, in finding a qualified business consultant for a contract-to-hire position. While this position will start as a contract role, there is the potential for full-time hire based on performance and mutual fit [Jess do you like this intro – not sure what’s appropriate here]
Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Senior Business Consultant to join their Analytics team to support analysis and decision making for the cruise line. The successful candidate will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to identify business challenges, conduct independent analysis, develop strategic solutions, and drive operational improvements. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work collaboratively across various teams to deliver results that align with business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a “get it done” mentality and drive work from inception to completion. This is a hands-on role that must be able to work with stakeholders to understand problems, work independently to fetch and transform data in SQL, conduct analysis, and communicate insights using Dashboards. You will need to be comfortable in SQL and Tableau. Cruise experience is a plus.

  • Technical Proficiency: You have a strong command of SQL and are proficient with Tableau (or a similar BI tool), with a demonstrated willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Data Storytelling: You can transform complex data sets into clear, actionable insights, communicating them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Curiosity & Business Acumen: You possess strong intellectual curiosity and business insight, enabling you to approach challenges with creative problem-solving and strategic thinking.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 6+ years of proven hands-on experience in business consulting, data analytics, revenue management, pricing strategy. Background in consulting or project-based work strongly preferred.
  • Industry Experience Preferred: Cruise, hospitality, travel, or service-based environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, FP&A, or a related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Structuring ambiguous business problems and supporting data analysis, data visualization, and project management
  • Developing a strong understanding of business requirements; working with business users and technical teams to define technical and process requirements
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders to understand business challenges and develop comprehensive analytics solutions that provide actionable insights.
  • Collecting and reviewing available information to make data-driven business decisions and recommendations
  • Analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for revenue improvement.
  • Creating, maintaining, and refining dashboards, visualizations, and automated reporting processes using tools such as Tableau.
  • Ability to fetch and structure data to conduct analysis: Comfort working in SQL is required
  • Serving as a subject matter expert in your assigned workstreams and projects, ensuring consistency and accuracy of all reporting outputs.
