TECHNICAL/INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in Business Development for a technology firm executing Engineering and Procurement projects.
  • Experience leading and working within project and sales teams.
  • Understanding of plant processes, equipment designs, constructability, fabrication, materials of construction, project execution, specifications, procedures, purchase orders, and quality plans.
  • Understanding of project execution, management, quality, and control methodologies.
  • Understanding of the project lifecycle for lump sum engineering, procurement, and services (LS EPS) projects.
  • Technical Business Development background, with some knowledge of process/mechanical engineering, equipment fabrication, project execution, estimating construction and site erection will be considered an asset.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, negotiation, relationship building (clients, suppliers and internally), business development, marketing, and project execution skills.
  • Must be available for international travel within and outside of Canada.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE:

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Business Development Manager. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position that can be based in Pickering, ON, Vancouver, BC, or Casablanca, Morocco. Our Senior Business Development Managers lead the sales effort for Chemetics globally for our plant, retrofit, equipment and engineering study opportunities. The Business Development (BD) team collaborates and is supported by the Proposals, Legal, Tax, Process and Mechanical Engineers (SMEs) and the Chemetics manufacturing shop equipment teams to develop technical and commercial proposals for clients in over 40 countries globally. The Senior Business Development Manager leads the bidding strategy and is responsible for ultimately winning the work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Main client point of contact through opening, middle, and end game sales processes.
  • Establishing clear agreement on client objectives. Ensuring these objectives are met and exceeded in our techno-commercial proposals.
  • Working with the Proposals and Engineering teams to optimize project schedule, quality cost, risk, and profitability within the proposal.
  • Identifying and eliminating/mitigating project and contractual risks and opportunities.
  • Developing and executing regional and client specific sales strategies.
  • Understanding the competitors’ offerings and how our designs provide better performance, reliability, environmental and CAPEX/OPEX savings.
  • Proactive resolution of scope, financial and schedule concerns.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Championing continuous improvement, sustainability, HSE and quality.
