ABOUT US

The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder, and related offences.
There are a total of 80 Judges of the Court and over 300 staff, including judicial support staff. The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings at 12 circuit courts situated in major centres throughout regional Victoria.

Responsibilities:

The role plays a key role in leading projects and new initiatives for CCV Specialist Courts, helping shape the future direction of service delivery and transformation of the Specialist Courts programs. The Senior Business Development Manager is responsible for oversight and implementation of major Specialist Courts reform priorities and projects with a focus on embedding a continuous improvement environment.

  • Uses high level expertise to consult with SCP Managers and other CCV /CSV staff to proactively identify opportunities that align with the strategic interests of CCV as a whole and develop and implement innovative and effective strategies for change
  • Use specialist expertise to contribute to the development of data-driven and evidence-based program planning, that leads reform through human centred design and agile principles
  • Manage key strategic business planning initiatives and business case development through the Expenditure and Review Committee process working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships across government departments and with other external stakeholders to broker optimal, mutually beneficial solutions to system reforms
  • Engage across jurisdictions to promote opportunities for multijurisdictional solution focused court collaborations and facilitate sharing of knowledge, expertise and resources
