    This Senior Business Officer position (two-year term) plays an integral role within RBA’s Payment Settlements Department based at Bella Vista. This is a fast paced operational and administrative role with a customer service focus.
    The Payments Settlements Department is responsible for the settlement of interbank obligations arising from the exchange of payments in Australia, the conduct of Exchange Settlement Accounts and the settlement of the Reserve Bank’s own trading activities. As part of its responsibilities, the Department operates a number of key systems supporting the Australian financial system, including the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS), SWIFT and FSS. This position is responsible to work on a rotational shift basis of 6.30am to 3pm and, 2pm to 10.30pm.

As part of the team you will:

  • Play an important role in supporting these mission critical systems through the timely and efficient completion of daily operational and administrative processes.
  • Be first point of contact for assistance and problem resolution for internal users and external SWIFT, FSS and RITS Members.
  • Provide prompt and professional support ensuring all problems and requests are accurately recorded and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor systems to facilitate early detection of issues.
  • Assist with the timely resolution of all production system incidents to maintain high levels of system availability.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of support procedures, user guides and other operational documentation as required.
  • This is a highly critical area of the bank where it’s required to work on a rotational shift basis (6.30am - 3pm and 2pm - 10.30pm)
  • Some overtime or irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays may be required on occasion with minimal notice.

Your background

  • Previous experience in an operations role of a financial institution supporting and/or administering a business system.
  • Proven experience in a customer service or help desk environment providing high quality support for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to work productively with other staff and as part of a team.
  • Proven aptitude for analysing and resolving operational problems.

Your team
Payment System Operations are undertaken by a large team, working across two sites, based at offices in Sydney and Bella Vista. This position is based at Bella Vista. You will work closely with Assistant Managers, Business Officers and the other Senior Business Officers to ensure daily operations are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
