Responsibilities:

Customer: the client is the king

  • Set a vision and identify what the customer wants and have comprehensive understanding of main markets and customer
  • Monitor and react to how the customer is affected by trends and by their surroundings
  • Be responsible for the departments customer focus and SELECTIVE lines

Setting targets

  • Respect the companys and the departments margin objectives
  • Respect LT/MT /FT objectives or redefine them
  • Define a buying strategy for long and short term
  • Exchange with the merchandise planner, set up a precise assortment plan and stick to targets in terms of cluster/options/budget/fashion type
  • Evaluate the sales reports
  • Analyze competition
  • Inform the team about best and bad products and current performance
  • Responsible of setting up and planning sourcing, shopping and store day trips
  • Joint responsible of sourcing new factories and suppliers

Assortment

  • Responsible for the best assortment : best product, best price, right time, right quantity
  • Be constantly on the lookout for new trends
  • Select & develop items corresponding to the targeted customer and latest trends, ensure the replacement of the big volumes lines assuring the targets

Buying

  • Develop a sourcing plan
  • Negociate, focusing on profitability and quality

Sales

  • Constantly follow, react to the performance and new sales always follow top and bottom performers
  • Exchange with merchandise planner on a daily/weekly basis
  • Ask for specific analysis depending on the sales results
  • Analyze the collections performanceAnalyze competitors collections
  • Work with the visual merchandisers to put emphasis on main pieces and promotions
