Are you an experienced engineer with a strong background in advanced calculations, structural mechanics, or mechanical design? Do you thrive in a fast-paced startup environment where you can work on cutting-edge nuclear technology? Join Blykalla, Sweden’s leading developer of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), as our next Senior Calculation Engineer and contribute to the future of sustainable energy.

WHAT WE DO AT BLYKALLA

At Blykalla, we’re transforming the future of nuclear power by developing innovative Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). Our mission is to create a new generation of nuclear energy systems that are safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly. As Sweden’s only developer of SMRs, we’re at the forefront of a groundbreaking industry.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO

As a Senior Calculation Engineer, you will be at the forefront of advanced calculations, structural analysis, and mechanical design for our SMR projects. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that your calculations and designs are integrated into high-performance, safe, and compliant systems.

In this role, you’ll thrive if you:

  • Take responsibility for leading advanced calculations and ensuring they meet the highest standards.
  • Constantly ask why to drive innovation and solve complex technical problems.
  • Are committed to getting things done, and delivering precise and timely engineering solutions.
  • Speak your mind, fostering open communication while maintaining respect for your colleagues.
  • Believe that another world is possible through innovative and sustainable energy solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform advanced calculations and simulations related to structural mechanics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics in SMR systems.
  • Lead verification and validation of mechanical systems using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other advanced simulation tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in mechanical, nuclear, and systems engineering to optimize designs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations, particularly in nuclear power and heavy industrial applications.
  • Document and present your analysis to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support research and development initiatives aimed at enhancing the performance and safety of SMR systems.
