Description:
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENT FOR SKILLS
- Maintain all Care Plans/care records in accordance with Absolute Care Services Ltd policy and audit care records following company policy to ensure compliance
- Ability to induct and orientate new employees to the job role and service
- Organise and plan observations and monitor checks on flex and core colleagues.
- Provide and oversee staff providing people with support/assistance as they accomplish daily tasks, including bathing, eating, dressing, grooming and using the bathroom
- Organise, manage and dispense medication following Absolute Care Services Ltd policies and procedures
- Communicate any problems, concerns or changes to Service Users’ family members as needed, your colleagues and the multi-disciplinary team
- Core Support Workers need to build rapport with Service Users by establishing personal connections and showing interest in their lives
- The employee should recognise the importance of effective communication within the multi-disciplinary team, with Service Users and their families/friends, whilst recognising people’s needs for alternative methods of communication and respond accordingly
- To greet visitors to the services.
- Core Support Workers need to be able to adapt and address situations Plan, develop, implement and assess approaches to promote health and well-being, whilst recognising and reporting situations where there might be a need for protection
- To engage with community activities to support the emotional and physical wellbeing of our clients.
- To respond to unplanned and emergency calls as per the Contract Specification and record appropriately.
- Use Telecare equipment such as Tunstall to manage and respond to service users needs.
DESIRABLE
- Relevant experience in a support working role either through employment, voluntary role or through personal experience.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.
- QCF Credits Units specific to Dementia

Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES OF THE JOB
- Ensure Service Users are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing
- To ensure that all staff contribute to the efficient running of the service and supervise staff
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
- Develop effective working relationships with other employees within Absolute Care Services Ltd
- Work in cooperation with members of the multi-disciplinary teams to maximise opportunities for Service Users
- Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth
- Attend statutory training and any other training as directed by the management
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
- To participate in review meetings, best interest meetings and any other meeting for the wellbeing of clients and the service
- To supervise staff by completing shadowing and observations sessions to ensure junior colleagues remain up to date with best practice
- To complete risk assessments and care plans on a regular basis to ensure the safety and wellbeing of others
- To update electronic records to reflect any changes with clients care needs. E.G Medication/Mar Update.
- To assist with simple day to day budgeting, which could include, collecting pensions and/or paying bills (when handling service users’ money, receipts must be obtained for all transactions where possible, if not details of transactions must be made immediately, and the service user informed accordingly).
- To complete notification and/or incident forms where necessary
- To complete handovers during shifts and ensure relevant paperwork at handover is up to date.
- To monitor and record the level of unplanned sheets for Council Key Performance Indicators
