JOB SUMMARY:

This role is responsible for coordinating the collection and cleansing of policy data for use in Allied World’s Enterprise Risk management team. This position also ensures that sound Risk pricing is being undertaken across relevant lines and has responsibility for the reporting of exposures to management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENT:

  • Degree holder – Computer Science / Mathematics / Actuarial Science
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in Data modelling experience within P&C insurance industry, covering insurance and reinsurance is preferred.
  • Hands on experience in one of the languages Python/.net/VBA
  • Ideal candidate must have strong advanced SQL skills like wring stored procedure, database management etc.
  • Detailed understanding of insurance and reinsurance terminology, contracts, and coverage
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail
  • Strong team player, ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and to tight reporting deadlines, with flexible approach to work.
  • Excellent inter-personal and language skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ArcGIS/QGIS, Adobe Suite, Power BI, Google Earth etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality assurance checks against all account statements of value.
  • Interpret policy structure, code policy and location information data as required per line of business.
  • Utilise insurance experience in making sound modelling assumptions across several classes of business, to include Property, Marine and Construction
  • Interact with underwriting teams to obtain complete and timely exposure data for catastrophe modelling purposes and to provide feedback on pricing and exposures.
  • Modelling accounts pre-bind as required to produce average annual loss and exposure summaries on an individual deal basis.
  • Maintain control record information for all bound business.
  • Track exposures in high-hazard catastrophe areas to provide timely information to local management.
  • Maintain current exposure data via AIR software. Produce monthly portfolios and associated PML reports for use in consolidated corporate roll-up.
  • Perform necessary Risk analysis to respond to regulatory questionnaires and other ad-hoc queries.
  • Maintain good working relationship with local and international representatives of modelling firm (AIR)
