SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant degree qualifications, or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through practical experience.
  • Extensive experience managing large enterprises and stakeholders, large spend and complex business categories.
  • Experience in category management, sourcing strategies and procurement – ideally in D&T space.
  • Experience in a commercial role and exposure to vendor relationship management.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, takes initiative, negotiation skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Lead and direct the provision of procurement services, including procurement planning, category plans, development, sourcing, contract and risk management activities to meet business needs.

DUTIES

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Senior Category Manager – D&T you will:

  • Develop, lead and execute category plans and sourcing strategies based on research and analysis to optimise value for money outcomes and meet stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Lead negotiations on high impact, complex supply arrangements and contract issues to deliver better category outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement and the procurement category.
  • Lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, systems and performance management frameworks for all procurement related activity.
  • Develop and implement procurement plans and strategies to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate providers to optimise service outcomes.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop innovative supply strategies, establish supply arrangements, lead high-level negotiations and manage contracts to deliver value for money outcomes.
  • Lead and manage procurement staff and cross-functional procurement teams to successfully deliver procurement business plans and achieve optimal outcomes from procurement activity.
