WHAT YOU’LL DO
Epic Games is searching for an experienced Character Artist to work on our collaboration with Disney. In this position, you will work directly with world class concept and character art teams to help create exciting, compelling characters that embody their iconic roots. You will have the opportunity to innovate and contribute to the visual style of characters as part of building a rich and engaging interactive world.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL
- Create characters and enemies based on direction from concept art and reference materials
- Model high and low poly characters with clean and efficient topology
- Optimize and bake characters to look their best within predefined budgets
- Based on visual direction from the Art Director, collaborate on the visual style and ensure our designs are of the Epic quality bar
- Create and iterate on unique and stunning designs within a determined production schedule
- Model characters in a variety of styles. You will primarily be working with stylized characters, but should be comfortable doing photo-realistic work when needed
- Partner with other departments, such as the Character Design or Concept Art team, to ensure the models work within the project workflow
