We are looking for candidates with:

  • Previous experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Preferably a fully qualified Chef (City of London Guilds or equivalent).
  • Customer service experience and great communication skills.
  • Experience operating a food safety program.
  • Experienced delivering high quality, varied and nutritious meals, considering any special dietary needs.

A high level of competency and the ability to work as part of a team is essential.

FURTHER DETAILS/PŪROKO

We have two permanent positions, commencing January 2025 based in Dunedin.
Hours of work are 40 hours per week, as per roster. Rosters include one weekend day during semester time.

We have a full year and a semester time only position as outlined below:

  • One full-time, full year position.
  • One full-time, semester time only position, 38 weeks per year worked between February and November.

The University offers catering staff summer maintenance work as a Trades Assistant to those staff seeking employment outside of the academic year (November to February).
The appointment range is $29.72 to $31.12 per hour, top of range is $32.52 per hour.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking experienced Senior Chef’s to assist our Head Chef with the management of our food service at Te Rangihīroa College kitchen.
These hands-on positions will be responsible for the production of high-quality, nutritious meals and the supervision of catering staff. You will be an effective leader with the vision and work ethic to contribute to an already high performing food service.
