• Take ownership of technical challenges, develop a strategy and implement the solution through engagement with internal and external stakeholders
• Lead people on projects to deliver positive outcomes for clients
• Guide and mentor others on technical tasks
• Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of input data
• Produce design deliverables (assumption notes, technical specifications and calculation notes, etc)
• Perform analysis tasks as necessary
• Oversight, verification and leadership for the preparation of Calculations, CDM activities, Basis of Design, Material Specifications, Scopes of Work, Technical Reports, Inter-discipline design coordination and supervision
• Technical verifications of civil engineering documents
• MEng, MSc, BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering or other relevant degree level qualification
• Chartered or working towards chartership with relevant institution (e.g., ICE or IStructE)
• Ability to work within, and where required, lead a design team, and also able to collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams
• Knowledge and previous experience in the design and/or construction of civil engineering solutions using Eurocodes (and ideally American codes)
• Reinforced concrete and steel design experience
• Experience using finite element modelling software and associated post processing software, with experience in validation and verification of modelling tools and their outputs
• Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment
