Job Description
With an increasingly busy forward workload, SLR’s busy, established Civil & Structural Engineering team in Edinburgh has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineer to join our team to help assist our
engineering projects.
The successful candidate will hold or be working towards Chartered Structural or Civil Engineer status (IStructE or ICE) and be required to project manage Civil and Structural engineering projects from feasibility through the design, tender and construction phases to final handover.
Applications are sought from candidates who can demonstrate a strong background in Civil Engineering consultancy, ideally with expertise in managing engineering projects in a commercial consultancy environment.

Responsibilities:

Duties will be varied but will include:

  • Managing / overseeing projects, advising clients on engineering projects such as power, general infrastructure and waste management facilities, and residential throughout Scotland and across the UK;
  • The role requires a working knowledge of engineering design (reinforced concrete, steel, earthworks, drainage and external works design), programme management, engineering contracts (NEC3/4, FIDIC etc), along with experience of the tender process and management of construction projects.
  • Report writing and technical review of other team members work;
  • Supervision / mentoring of engineering staff;
  • Liaising with other professionals in other UK offices;
  • Assisting more senior team members in seeking opportunities through coordinated business development to expand the civil & structural engineering services and capabilities.
  • You will manage and provide assistance on a diverse range of engineering projects, across sectors including power (wind farms, sub-stations), infrastructure (waste facilities, general developments) and built environmental (residential etc).
