THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced Senior Claims Officer to join our EnABLE team, managing catastrophic work injury claims. The successful candidate will be an individual who has extensive claims management experience within the South Australian work injury insurance scheme. This role will own a case load of claims, as well as act as a point of escalation and support the team providing claims management support services to catastrophically injured workers. This role will be responsible to manage more complex claims, and specifically dust disease claims. This role is essential to providing a desirable, affordable and sustainable claims management service.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / CONDITIONS

Current DCSI Disability Services Sector employment screening clearance or the ability to obtain one

In the role you will be responsible for:

• Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the other Claims Officers, providing technical support and subject matter expertise to build team knowledge and capability.
• Act as an escalation point in the Claims Officer team to advise on complex claims eligibility and determinations.
• Acquire and apply subject matter expertise in complex claims, and specifically dust disease claims to understand scheme-wide impact
• Assessing disputes relating to catastrophic claims and providing recommendations
• High quality and timely determination of claim eligibility and entitlements
• Work closely with the Support Coordinators to ensure appropriate supports and services are in place for injured worker
