Responsibilities:

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Senior Client Technology Specialist in Te Tai Matihiko - Digital Solutions (DS). The role will be responsible for providing technical excellence and outstanding service to enable, support, and enhance research quality and impact. This role will also provide services and abilities to ensure that the learning, teaching, and student experience at Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is second to none.

Key responsibilities:

  • Take a lead role in the ongoing management of the standard operating environment for Windows PCs and be responsible for ensuring the successful deployment of client technologies and application packages into the University’s environment.
  • Assist in the design, build, configuration, and implementation of Microsoft client images.
  • Assist with the development, documentation, and maintenance of technical infrastructure systems and processes for desktop management, such as Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Group Policy.
  • Manage the application packaging, planning process, delivery, and documentation.
  • Provide technical mentoring and coaching to other Client Technology team members to ensure a good level of understanding among team members of the University’s PC desktop environment.
  • Engage on a personal and technical level with key stakeholders across the University, in order to better understand their workflows and to meet or better their requirements.
  • Stand out as a key technical resource for projects and activities throughout DS and beyond, based on deep understandings both of client needs and of opportunities for improvements across the board.
