Description:
TE WHIWHINGA MAHI | THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Clinic Administrator and Clinic Administrator supporting the University of Auckland Optometry Clinic within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.
You will play a vital role in the clinical service operations for our student-led teaching clinics. This role will be responsible for the patient support, administration, reception and daily tasks associated with running our busy and diverse clinic administration. Providing support to our Optometry clinic, you will enjoy a variety of task, diverse patient demographic and a unique environment providing clinical services to patients while supporting the student achieve their clinical competencies required for course completion.
In essence, we help the allied health workforce train and develop to become the healthcare workforce of the future!
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE
- Front of house/ reception responsibilities.
- Liaising with patients to provide information on our services.
- Appointments scheduling and diary maintenance for all our user groups.
- Invoice and payment collection from patients.
- Processing external claims
- Processing Healthlink referrals to Te Whatu Ora and other external agencies
- Adhering to patient confidentiality protocols and requirements.
- Ensuring appropriate consenting and documentation is obtained prior to service delivery.
- Supporting clinical groups to maintain and distribute clinical correspondence.
- Maintaining Health and Safety standards as per University and legislative requirements.
These are fulltime (37.5 hours per week), permanent positions. The salary range for both roles is between $50,700- $63,900 dependent on skills and experience.

You will have experience in managing a busy administration/reception/customer-facing role. Plus:
- You preferably will have experience in the health sector.
- You will have experience with processing financial transactions.
- You will have experience with patient management systems or similar.
- You will have experience in managing multiply Optometry services
- You will have proficient use of Microsoft office suite of programs.
- You will have a confident, clear phone manner
