Description:

We are seeking a Senior Clinical Fellow in Neurology.
This post forms part of the Lancashire teaching hospitals Overseas Registrar Development and Recruitment Program (ORDeR Program).
This is a program which is recognised by the GMC and to which (if required) the trust can sponsor successful candidates to gain their GMC registration through trust sponsorship.

In this post you will work in our Neurosciences Centre, based at The Royal Preston Hospital. This comprises both Neurosurgery and Medical Neurosciences (Neurology, Neurophysiology, Neuroradiology, including interventional Neuroradiology, Neuropathology and Neurorehabilitation). The centre serves a population of approximately. 1.5 million from the catchment area of Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Candidates applying for this post must ensure they are able to commit to being in the UK, ready to start work before the 1 st November 2024

Responsibilities:

You will participate in all aspects of Neurology within the department. You will take part in the Specialist Trainee on call rota with appropriate banding.
Undertake up to three outpatient clinics a week at Royal Preston Hospital and peripheral hospitals, under consultant supervision.
Management of inpatients in the regional neurology ward based at Royal Preston Hospital.
The post-holder will be expected to participate in the neurology registrar on-call rota. The post will enable the post holder to gain experience in clinical neurology in a supportive environment.
Significant clinical learning opportunities are available, with weekly clinical and academic meetings, case presentations and frequent clinical teaching. Although this is not a formal training post, the post holder will be allocated an educational supervisor.
