Description:

The team at Advanced Space is leading humanity back to the Moon and pioneering innovative solutions in the space industry. Based in Westminster Colorado, this incredible team is looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Cloud and DevOps Engineer. Responsibilities include architecting cloud-based DevOps solutions, selecting appropriate toolsets, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Solid skills in cloud-based solution architecture, networking, AWS cloud administration, Linux, Docker/Kubernetes, and CI/CD Pipelines are required. REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience working in an information systems, network and/or server administrator role.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience architecting AWS cloud-based DevOps solutions using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Linux Operating System administration.
  • Scripting with Python and Bash.
  • AWS Computing Administration and Management (e.g., IAM, VPC, Route53, EC2, S3, EFS, Lambda, Systems Manager, CloudWatch, SNS).
  • Managing and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Database Development and Administration (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Neo4j).
  • Log management, metrics monitoring, and alarms for compute resources (e.g., CloudWatch, Elasticsearch).
  • Working experience with source control tools and concepts such as git workflows, versioning, branching (GitHub, GitLab).
  • Knowledge of standard security processes in a DevOps environment.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of data engineering and backend development for high-performance computing and machine learning applications.
  • Knowledge of AWS Organizations, Service Catalog, and the development of applicable security configurations.
  • Experience with identity management systems and APIs.
  • Monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus)
  • Experience with cloud software development kits such as AWS CDK and Python Boto3.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work in the Westminster, CO office 3-5 days/week.
  • Applicants must be a US Person (citizen or Green Card Holder/permanent resident, or protected individual
  • Must hold an existing TS clearance

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with development and operations teams to understand project requirements. Architect and design suitable, maintainable, secure, and scalable cloud and DevOps solutions.
  • Select appropriate toolsets based on capabilities, support, security, and cost.
  • CI/CD and software lifecycle infrastructure maintenance, enhancement, and automation.
  • System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms.
  • Assisting with the development and deployment of high-performance computing and data engineering solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining Kubernetes clusters, administrating Kubernetes deployments (YAML, Helm).
  • Configuration management using tools such as Ansible.
  • Developing and deploying solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions such as Terraform.
  • Implementing cloud security solutions in AWS using cloud-native tools. Development and deployment of AWS IAM and Organizations Service Control Policies, permission sets, and secure IaC.
  • Supporting and mentoring more junior engineers and team members.
