As a member of the Pepperstone IT team, the Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of cloud-based production systems and services.
The Senior Cloud Engineer will provide technical advice, guidance and mentorship to other engineers within the organisation. They will act as a technical expert in cloud engineering and drive the adoption of best-practices.
This role will be responsible for developing highly scalable and efficient cloud solutions and will work closely with the Cloud Engineering Team Lead to ensure the success of the function.
As our Senior Cloud Engineer , your key responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

- Effectively deliver on requirements, ensuring the agreed outcomes are achieved within determined timeframes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement and maintain cloud solutions that are resilient, scalable and secure
- Contribute to the design and management of cloud infrastructures through CI/CD pipelines and automation
- Advocate for and implement best practices for DevOps, Continuous Delivery, including automated testing (BDD, TDD), build and deployment pipelines and observability
- Develop automation strategies to monitor and adjust performant cloud solutions
- Develop and maintain data security processes to ensure networks, data stores, and applications remain secure
- Assist with technical problem solving and provide technical guidance to other engineers and team across the organisation
- Mentor junior engineers and train them on best practice, cloud technologies, software architecture and tools
- Act as a point of escalation during incidents, helping to resolve issues and risks
- Stay up to date with cloud industry trends, technologies and market changes
