SMX is seeking a driven and talented Senior Cloud Engineer, with a background in AWS account management and/or DevOps, to join our thriving Cloud Services business unit and work with some of the best Cloud Architects and Cloud Engineers in the market. This individual will bring a passion for technology, a strong technical skill set, and proven experience in the development or DevOps space.

• 4+ years of technical experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred

Selected applicant will be subject to a background investigation

• Support the technical delivery of cloud services that span storage, networking and compute cloud capabilities, with a deep understanding of each service across the full IT cycle
• Expand on Programing Language experience (Python, Ansible, Bash, etc)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code technologies (CloudFormation, Terraform, etc)
• Experience with AWS cloud environment
• In depth understanding with Jenkins, Ansible, and Kubernetes
• Proficiency in Linux, RedHat and AWS EC2
• Take on cloud engineering, scripting, and system administration JIRA stories in support of larger cloud migration efforts.
• Take end-user requests for new cloud applications and make recommendations on services to use for optimal performance and scale, as well as provision, ensure capacity, monitor and adjust as appropriate
• Convert the technical requirements of a project into the architecture and design that will guide the final product
• Verify stability, interoperability, portability, security or scalability of system architecture
• Bridge the gaps between complex business problems and solutions in the cloud, while working with other members of the technology team, including DevOps engineers and developers, to ensure that the right technology or technologies are being built
• Communicate project information through presentations, technical reports, or white papers
• Employ DevOps and DevSecOps best Practices through all deliverables
