Description:

EXPECTED SKILLS:

  • Possess deep knowledge of multiple cloud services
  • Adept at troubleshooting issues in cloud infrastructure components
  • Skilled in decomposing complex problems into discrete work units
  • Ability to balance strategic and pragmatic concerns when solving problems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of core infrastructure capabilities: operating systems, networking, identity, and access management
  • Expertise in tooling used to test and manage infrastructure components
  • Capable of producing sustainable solutions that can be extended and refactored as needed
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex topics to a diverse range of audiences

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Typically has 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and relevant qualifications
  • Proven experience and knowledge of either AWS or Azure cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of container runtime platforms such as AWS ECS, EKS, or Azure AKS
  • Experience with HashiCorp Terraform and HCLSoftware development and testing experience, including CI
  • CD
  • Strong knowledge of modern security principles and technology, including authentication, authorisation, policies, and secrets management
  • Understanding of what enables software to be maintainable and malleable
  • Relevant cloud certifications are a bonus
  • Knowledge of Java and Groovy is a bonus
  • Experience working in a regulated environment would be useful

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintaining awareness and understanding of evolving cloud technology
    • Guiding other technology teams in using cloud services effectively, securely, and efficiently
    • Producing and delivering training materials for cloud services to technology teams
    • Driving the evolution and modernisation of cloud deployments
    • Providing and maintaining shared, reusable cloud deployment code and configurations
    • Ensuring solutions meet relevant security and resilience standards
    • Participating in an in-hours support rota for responsible components
    • Working effectively as part of a globally distributed team (US East Coast and UK)
