ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Systems Engineer to join our TCX Cloud Operations team.
In this role, you will take on a hands-on technical position while also ensuring daily operations of a private OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure.
This is a remote position for applicants residing in Canada and US.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- OpenStack Management: Installing, configuring, maintaining, and managing all hardware and software system components of OpenStack.
- Network Storage Management: Installing, configuring, maintaining, and managing all hardware and software system components of network storage.
- Auxiliary Systems: Installing, configuring, maintaining, and managing auxiliary cloud support systems and other micro-cloud environments.
- Collaboration: Working with the Cloud team to build and create internal tools and APIs.
- Innovation: Researching, innovating, and implementing new technologies to improve operational efficiency.
- Documentation: Develop comprehensive A-Z documentation for configurations, procedures, and standards.
- Standardization: Collaborating on and upholding system deployment standards and infrastructure tools, driving optimization efforts across all aspects.
- On-Call Rotation: Participating in the on-call rotation schedule for Cloud Operations.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- System Migration: Assisting in migrating production systems to a new architecture, leveraging the latest DevOps methodologies and tools.
- Automation Frameworks: Working with SaltStack, Terraform, Ansible, and Python-based automation frameworks, with the ability to extend these frameworks with new modules.
- Administration: Administering OpenStack, Proxmox, Ceph Storage, and GitHub.
- Troubleshooting: Demonstrating strong systems administration troubleshooting skills.
- Team Collaboration: Working effectively within a team environment.
- Communication: Maintaining excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring a keen eye for detail and thoroughness in all tasks.
- Adaptability: Ability to learn quickly and comprehend new technologies.
The base salary range for this position is $140,500 to $158,100 USD for US residents OR $121,800 to $137,000 CAD for Canadian residents. Other countries will differ. Range may vary on a number of factors including, but not limited to: location, experience and qualifications.
