Join our team in Berlin, Erfurt, Leipzig, or Ilmenau or work remotely full-time as the Senior Commercial Finance Manager (m/f/d).
What is the role about?
- Lead a team preparing commercial pricing, offers, and change orders for projects around the world. Project scope includes engineering / implementation services plus off-the-shelf software. These projects play an essential role in addressing climate change by helping utilities better manage power usage (load) to integrate a growing volume of intermittent renewable energy
- Use strategic thinking to help the company grow and achieve superior margins - you will have a hands-on impact on the business and be involved in formulating offer strategy
- Collaborate with the sales team to prepare commercial bids, proposals, and sales forecasts
- Implement foreign exchange hedging, structure bank guarantees, and negotiate project cash flows
- Prepare, analyze, and align financial reports, statements, and project costs with original budgets.
- Collaborate closely with sales, project implementation, and software development teams.
- Coordinate closely with our joint ventures in Germany and India
- Support the Chief Financial Officer with ad-hoc financial analysis and strategic financial issues.
- Engage in international projects across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
- The right candidate will report directly to the CFO.
You fit in with us, if…
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with at least three years of experience in financial analysis or project finance.
- You have experience negotiating and pricing commercial deals for projects. This experience can range from engineering, consulting, aerospace, telecoms, utilities, energy, etc.
- You possess strong commercial acumen and analytical skills and are proficient in financial modeling and Excel.
- You ideally have experience with international projects.
- You are capable of working independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- You are passionate about addressing climate-related challenges.
- You are business fluent in English - German is a plus but not a must.
- You are based in Berlin or Erfurt, or within reasonable transit times to either. Can be based outside of Germany for the right candidate.
