Description:
Job title: Senior Commercial Manager
Location: Barrow-In-Furness or Bristol (travel to Barrow will be required)

Salary: From £63,000 depending on skills and experience
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field or significant experience in a commercial management role within a defence or complex project environment
- Proven experience in negotiating and managing complex contracts within large-scale, international programmes
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to build partnerships in multi-national environments
- Flexibility to adapt to unstructured and evolving work settings, demonstrating a proactive approach
- Strong financial awareness, capable of managing budgets, pricing strategies, and ensuring commercial viability
- Experience in complex licencing and handling intellectual property rights (IPR) within commercial agreements, ensuring compliance and protection of sensitive information
- Ability to manage risk and provide strategic commercial solutions that align with political and operational objectives
- Development, coaching and management of the commercial team including collaboration with the cost estimating sector of the function
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate and manage complex contracts with key stakeholders, including international partners, to support programme objectives
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with shipbuilding partners, customers, and supply chain members to prepare for the build phase
- Oversee the commercial aspects of securing and implementing IT platforms for the transfer of classified materials
- Provide strategic commercial guidance to ensure the alignment of programme goals with political and industry requirements
- Support the development of shipbuilding programme, such as infrastructure and supply chain readiness
- Facilitate commercial activities, both domestically and internationally, ensuring compliance with programme requirements and delivering commercial solutions
