Description:

Senior Communications Design Specialist
Working at Transurban is different; it’s a place where you can see the benefits of your work play out in real life, every day. We create city-sized solutions—building and operating safer, smarter, and more sustainable roads—to solve pressing transport challenges that are slowing cities down.
About the role
We’re seeking a Senior Communications Design Specialist to contribute to the design and delivery of Transurban’s outbound communications through eDM, SMS, print and other channels.
You’ll join an innovative team, dedicated to reimagining the way we connect with our audiences and ensuring our communications are seamless, timely, and effective.
As our Senior Communications Design Specialist, you will work cross-functionally to map out current delivery processes and make recommendations for reporting uplift, enhancements and/or new processes. This will include acting as the team’s representative on projects and BAU uplift initiatives.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • You’ll undertake process mapping for end-to-end delivery of critical business communications, including creation of user stories and backlog, reconciliation activities, reporting and issue resolution
  • Work with other business areas (as required) to understand and document current communications delivery processes
  • Work with stakeholders to gather business requirements, design new data flows and customer journeys, and support development of technical specification design documents
  • Analyse current customer communications processes and identify opportunities for improvements
  • Design and document new or revised delivery processes and data flows to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and/or improve customer experience
  • Develop use cases as required, identifying costs, business improvement opportunities and potential financial benefits
  • Manage the build, testing, delivery, billing and reporting for approved initiatives
  • You’ll maintain and optimise the delivery design framework

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

  • 5+ years’ experience managing customer and/or business communications design, processing and/or delivery
  • Experience with digital communications distribution platforms, with a preference for Salesforce Marketing Cloud exposure
  • Proven ability in relationship management with third parties
  • Previous experience of requirements gathering, project planning and change management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and solutions
  • Experience in facilitation of stakeholder workshops
  • Exceptional attention to detail coupled with the capacity for big-picture thinking
  • Prior incident management experience in either a Service Management or Technical Support role
  • A results-driven and adaptable ‘can do’ attitude
  • Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management and influencing skills

The following qualifications and certifications would be highly regarded:

  • A degree in a business discipline
  • Project Management certification(s)

If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.

With a career at Transurban, you’ll enjoy a range of benefits, including:

  • A range of flexible working and leave options, including the option to purchase an additional six weeks of leave each year
  • 16 weeks paid parental leave (regardless of gender or carer status), with no waiting period, with Superannuation paid during unpaid leave as well
  • Learning and development opportunities to support your career interests
  • Health and wellbeing support—access to Headspace and our EAP program, wellness facilities, and more
  • Share offers and insurance benefits
  • Social activities, community give-back programs and paid volunteer days

We offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests. Have a conversation with us about how this could work for you.
We embrace diversity with a foundation of safety, wellbeing and inclusion; where everyone belongs. We treat everyone with fairness, consideration and respect, regardless of gender, gender identity, marital or family status, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, religious beliefs, cultural or socio-economic background, perspective, and experience – whether they work for us or not. We want to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe to express ideas, questions and concerns.
We strongly encourage applications from candidates of diverse backgrounds and lived experiences, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people living with disability.
