This position will report to our EnerSys Energy Systems business, which serves the telecom, cable broadband, industrial, renewable, and data center markets. QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in related technical, electronics, or engineering field (Diploma degree with required Safety, EMC testing experiences will be considered as well)
- Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in product safety or regulatory compliance roles
- Demonstrated practical knowledge and interpretation of safety standards requirements.
- Hands-on experience with product validation testing and agency certifications.
- Successfully taken products through CSA or UL, EN, CE, FCC, IC, NEBS (prefer) testing & certification.
- Detail-oriented and passionate about digesting complex documents.
- Self-driven, and able to manage and clearly communicate plans and priorities.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred: Deep knowledge and experiences on product safety (electrical, mechanical, NEBs, hazard analysis/risk assessment, etc.), Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) emissions & immunity testing (European CE Mark, FCC, etc.), project planning and environmental regulation.

Responsibilities:
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Sr. Compliance Engineer will work closely with our Engineering Design Teams, Project management, Product management and Sales and be responsible for ensuring that new and existing products are designed to meet all the safety and compliance requirements for the global markets. You will be required to ensure standards and procedures are adhered to while meeting committed delivery dates; and lead the HW DV team on a path of continual improvement to ensure we remain one of the leaders in our industry.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a liaison with the certification, inspection, and testing agencies to obtain and maintain certification.
- Establish test plans and conduct electrical product safety testing to determine compliance with applicable standards.
- Serve as a standards and compliance resource to project engineers, sales, and technical support.
- Determine the impact that standards impose on each product in the early design stages, provide engineering parameters or design guidance to the project teams.
- Keep up to date with proposed standard changes applicable to power electronic designs and proactively work with engineering to implement those changes into new product designs.
- Work with nationally recognized testing laboratories to ensure that submitted products conform to the safety standards.
- Generate Data Sheet Packages for review by Engineering Manager and outside agencies.
- Execute the timely completion of supporting documentation necessary to comply with ISO17025.
- Monitor engineering changes to ensure products are in compliance and that all applicable products are appropriately marked.
- Participate in project planning meetings; develop compliance project support schedules and work within certification budgets.
- Assignments may include testing of hardware/firmware products, analyzing test results, and preparing detailed written reports for internal and external customers.
