We are looking for an ambitious and experienced senior compliance professional to join the Amazon Payments Europe (APE) Compliance Office team to invent simple solutions to difficult regulatory issues.
The Senior Compliance Manager is critical role within the APE Compliance Office team, responsible for providing Compliance subject matter expertise, advisory and oversight in relation to payment services regulations.
Key job responsibilities
Job Title: Senior Compliance Manager
Role Overview: The Senior Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring Amazon’s operations and products adhere Payment Services Regulations and compliance requirements across the European Union, specifically Luxembourg and United Kingdom. This role serves as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and oversight to the business on managing compliance risks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Extensive knowledge of PSR, compliance frameworks, and best practices applicable to Amazon’s operations in the UK, EU and Luxembourg;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct comprehensive risk assessments and propose effective mitigation strategies;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders;
Project management experience, with the ability to lead and contribute to compliance-related projects;
Proficiency in creating and delivering training programs on compliance topics;
Relevant professional certifications or qualifications in compliance, risk management, or related fields are preferred;
This role is critical in ensuring Amazon’s operations and products meet regulatory requirements, mitigate compliance risks, and maintain a robust control framework.
A day in the life
Responsibilities:
This role is a key part of the Amazon Payments Europe (APE) Compliance team and will be involved in supporting also Amazon Payments UK (APUK), which is based in Luxembourg. The team is responsible for providing second line Compliance advisory and oversight in relation to the regulated financial services activities performed by Amazon in the EU.
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials
- Experience with SQL and Excel
- Experience in program requirements definition, together with data and metrics leveraging to drive improvement
