The Compliance function for the Genomic Medicines operating companies and Abcam within Danaher’s Life Sciences Platform is responsible for for developing, fostering, and sustaining a sound Integrity and Compliance culture as well as for leading, embedding and strengthening the Compliance Program. The Compliance Function runs an effective Compliance Program designed to ensure compliance with anti-corruption and other compliance laws, regulations, and industry best practices, to promote ethical and appropriate behavior among employees and to prevent and detect misconduct. The Senior Compliance Manager EMEA will be the primary compliance advisor for the Genomic Medicines and Abcam operating companies in the EMEA region.
This position is part of the Compliance function and will be located in Cambridge, UK
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Review and advise on business activities and strategies and support implementation of Compliance systems, processes and controls.
- Modifying, updating, and implementing Compliance policies and procedures, and design and conduct ongoing Compliance training for associates.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and develop risk management strategies and implement internal design controls to mitigate business risks, including third party/distributor risk management.
- Conduct regular compliance auditing and monitoring to assess the effectiveness of compliance systems, processes, and controls, and implement any required remedial actions.
- Promoting Danaher’s Code of Conduct, core values, Speak Up program, and conduct investigations and oversee implementation of related corrective actions.
THE ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB INCLUDE:
- Progressive Compliance experience in the relevant risk areas within the life science/healthcare industries, or a similarly highly regulated industry.
- B.A. or B.S. or similar university degree required.
- Business minded, risk conscious, proactive, solutions-oriented, and self-motivated professional, able to explain complex compliance points to the business; able to take business managers’ concerns and demands into account in how best to develop and execute on compliance strategies.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with a wide variety of audiences. Fluency in English and preferably fluency in other language(s) spoken in the EMEA region.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements
- Willingness to travel (~30%) and to visit sites within the region on a regular base.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Qualified UK Solicitor/Juris doctorate (J.D.) degree or similar law certification or license or Compliance Certification/Credentials
- Data privacy compliance program experience is preferred, but not required
