Description:
Job Title: Senior Compliance Officer (Export Control)
Location: Rochester. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 Depending on skills and experience
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES:
Essential:
- Working knowledge of US export regulations and up to date with Export Control laws.
- Investigative & probing skills when conducting investigations, ensuring accurate results are concluded & recorded in a timely manner, and clear root cause(s) identified
- Excellent communication skills to relay regulatory requirements into the business at all levels
- Ability to engage at numerous levels within the organisation and ensure interaction with team, Customers, Suppliers and external auditors
Desirable:
- Understanding of UK export regulations
- Exposure to complex export audits with internal and external auditors
Responsibilities:
- Act as a key point of contact/subject matter expert for day-to-day advice and guidance on Export Control regulatory and procedure requirements, including engagement with regulatory bodies to obtain export/re-export authorisations
- Oversee and participate in external & internal audits of compliance against business processes across the site, functions and projects
- Undertake Export Control investigations, draft Disclosure letters, identify corrective actions and lead root cause analysis and lessons learned reviews
- Prepare and introduce appropriate compliance training and guidance materials and policies for dissemination to the business
- Support local implementation of compliance related aspects of the Rochester site Transformation programmes where export control protocols/checks are needed
- Supervise and develop junior practitioners/team members
