Description:

SENIOR COMPLIANCE OFFICER OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE WITH AXA IRELAND.

We are seeking an experienced Compliance professional with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role and a background in financial/regulatory environments.

The role will report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer and be responsible for providing accurate and timely advice to management, embedding a culture of compliance into the day-to-day business operations and contributing to the development of the relationship with the Central Bank of Ireland and the Health Insurance Authority. Responsibilities will include;

  • Responsible for the provision of advice within the company covering all relevant legislation and Group/Company policies to ensure AXA Ireland remains compliant.
  • Support the Chief Compliance Officer in managing all regulatory information requests from the Central Bank of Ireland and the Health Insurance Authority ensuring all requests are dealt with appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive relationship with the Central Bank of Ireland and Health Insurance Authority
  • Be subject matter expert providing advice and interpretation of compliance obligations to facilitate development of new products, marketing, literature, systems, etc; and Group/Company policies
  • Coach members of the Compliance team on areas of technical knowledge relating to relevant legislation and Group/company policies.
  • Contribute to a good working relationship with AXA UK Group Compliance.
  • Actively participate and drive projects relating to the introduction of new compliance requirements within the business, focusing on regulatory requirements and Codes of Practice issued by the Central Bank of Ireland.
  • Provide written status reports on progress to the Chief Compliance Officer and/or Audit Committee.

Your Profile

ABOUT THE PERSON

  • 5 years’ experience as a technical expert in a compliance/legal environment, ideally, with experience in the health insurance/financial industry and dealing with a regulatory body.
  • APA qualification (Health), and/or an equivalent insurance/compliance qualification
  • Excellent technical knowledge of all relevant regulatory requirements including Consumer Protection Code, Minimum Competency Code, relevant applicable general legislation and any other regulatory requirements issued by the Central Bank of Ireland or the Health Insurance Authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills especially influencing and challenging people at all levels in the organisation to secure change of behaviour in compliance matters & delivering key compliance objectives across the organization.
  • Excellent PC skills in MS products of spreadsheet and presentation
  • Possess strong analytical and problem solving skills and show a pragmatic and logical approach to decision making.
