Description:

We are seeking a talented and creative copywriter who is well-versed in current trends on various creative media platforms, TTL,TV, radio, animation, film and video. The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of social media best practices, campaigns, excellent writing skills, and the ability to create engaging and compelling copy that resonates with our target audience. You must possesses a deep understanding of South African culture and be able to incorporate vernacular language when creating content. Knowledge of other international languages would be beneficial for this role.
We are a creative agency based in Johannesburg, and we are looking for a conceptual copywriter with exceptional skills and aspiration to grow into a creative director role.
You should be a confident people’s person, that has a strong understanding of creative principles with strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. You will be working closely with the senior art director / designer to become the dream team!

Responsibilities:

Attend and co-lead creative sessions for project kick-offs
Translate the brief and strategic requirements into compelling creative solutions and scripts, ensuring that its aligned with client tonality and style
Create and update style guides per brand
Work with the creative team to develop concepts and present to management and clients, including proofreading of presentations.
Establish creative direction with the senior art director / designer, for campaigns
Manage multiple projects from concept through to completion.
Guide the art director / designer during the creation of storyboards for film and animation with internal reviews.
Write punching copy for packaging design
Copywriting / script quality control on all concepts and projects
Develop and implement social media content strategies that align with our brand voice and objectives
Create engaging and culturally relevant copy that resonates with the South African audience
Incorporate vernacular language and cultural references into marketing materials
Research and stay up-to-date on trends in South African culture and language usage
Translate and adapt content for international markets when necessary
Collaborate with the marketing team to create cohesive and effective social media campaigns
Monitor and analyse the performance of social media content to optimise engagement and reach
