Chevron Venezuela is accepting online applications for the position Senior Construction Engineer to Petropiar NOJV Upstream division in El Tigre, Edo. Anzoátegui through October 24 at 11:59 p.m
The Construction Engineer reports to the Facilities Engineering Manager. This job requires working in a Empresa Mixta and requires daily interaction with PDVSA management and leadership of Joint Venture.
As a Construction Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Facilities Project team, responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, contractors, and clients, to ensure proper planning and coordination with various stakeholders. Your role will involve providing technical expertise and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.

The Senior Construction Engineer will:

  • Supervise construction projects from planning and design through to completion, developing project plans, schedules, budgets, and monitor progress.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports, providing technical expertise and guidance on construction methods, materials, and processes.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies, including Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) protocols.
  • Coordinate with project teams, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Supervise field activities to ensure progress and compliance with contract scopes and requirements, in addition to verifying and monitoring the administrative process for billing the service.
  • Interface with contractor management and facilitate improvement of contractor safety performance and construction quality and efficiency.
  • Develop programs to improve consistency of construction practices and application within the area. Work with other Construction Team Lead to improve Business Unit wide construction practices.
  • Provides field oversight during project execution phase to ensure Incident Free Operations by verify and validating compliance with: OE requirements, regulatory requirements, contract requirements, and policy requirements.
  • Provides leadership in the implementation of key OE processes for construction management including FDC, MOC and compliance assurance.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with Joint Venture stakeholders and promoting Chevron’s Partner of Choice standing with partner PDVSA.
  • Responsible for maintaining close communication with project customers to ensure construction quality and future operability.
  • Mentor early career facilities engineers and construction reps and build yearly training plans for construction reps.
