Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Manage the co-ordination of the Civil, Structural and Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical and Life Safety work packages.
  • Management of Site Safety in conjunction with Mercury Safety Advisor, including set up, management of and closing out of file.
  • Management of Site QA in conjunction with Mercury Project Manager and team including set up, management and close out of file.
  • Management of Project Schedule in conjunction with Planner, Project Managers, Sub-Contractors and consulting Engineer/Architect to Mercury Engineering and Client requirements
  • Facilitate the adherence to schedule on the project through DABs meetings and on-site actions.
  • Knowledge of package budgets. Drive good value through efficient performance and continuity of work for Supply chain.
  • Management of costs associated with Project Logistics and maintenance of the project including:
  • Labour
  • Material
  • Plant and Equipment
  • Variations
  • Valuations
  • Control of all day-to-day site operations within schedule
  • Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule. Ensure manpower levels are adequate.
  • Ensure Sub-Contractor meetings are being completed and recorded.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR THE ROLE:

  • Engineering Degree or recognised trade qualification
  • 10+ years’ experience of managing large construction projects as a General Contractor.
  • Thorough knowledge of Civil, Structural and Architectural packages.
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical installations and interfaces.
  • Flexibility in working patterns where necessary.
  • Ability to efficiently manage a team by setting expectations, delegation, and review.
  • Strong communication & computer skills,
  • Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
