The Team and Job Summary
J.S. Held is actively seeking a Senior Consultant/Associate Director, Delay Analyst for its Construction Advisory Team, specializing in claims and construction dispute resolution.
Please note, that this role is based in Saudi Arabia, this is a permanent full-time position. This position is for a senior professional who has a minimum of 5 years on-site construction experience in delivering various construction and/ or infrastructure projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • The Candidate will primarily be involved in construction dispute resolution, claims assessment, delay/ disruption analysis and providing programming support on live projects.
  • An individual is required who can show initiative, perform advanced data research, manage client relations and deliver to tight deadlines. This role will involve frequent client interaction and will require the successful candidate to prepare and make presentations to communicate results.
  • It is preferred that the individual has previous experience in providing consultancy services on substantial and/or complex disputes in delay and time-related matters. They should be able to demonstrate experience in writing reports to a high level and have strong industry experience in large construction and engineering projects.
  • We anticipate that the successful candidate will have a good academic record and be able to demonstrate how they have distinguished themselves within their chosen field. They will be expected to work collaboratively with the team and deliver commissions to the client’s satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • A recognized undergraduate degree in construction management, engineering quantity surveying, or similar from a leading university.
  • A post graduate qualification in construction law (or similar) is desirable but not essential.
  • Chartered professional status, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years on-site construction experience with engineering or construction firms, or a construction claim/dispute firm.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Professionalism and client facing ability, able to build trust.
  • A strong technical underpinning in project planning.
  • Relationship building and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in IT skills (Excel, Word and programming software (I.e Asta or Primavera 6).
  • A Flexible approach to their work.
  • An understanding of the demands of project-based work, able to work under pressure and an ability to meet deadlines.
  • A sense of personal responsibility for the quality of their work.
  • Fluency in English is required.
