YOUR OPPORTUNITY

BDO Canada is looking for a Senior Specialist or Manager, to be part of our Innovation & Change team. Working from anywhere in Canada, you will play a crucial role in cascading and championing innovation across teams by:

  • Facilitating cross-Service Line collaboration to ensure alignment and prioritization of innovation initiatives
  • Balancing the drive for organization-wide innovation with the unique needs and priorities of individual Service Lines
  • Advancing the AI Quotient across Service Line(s), promoting a deep understanding and integration of AI technologies
  • Cultivating a culture of innovation, encouraging creative thinking and transformative ideas

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information technology
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in configuring and/or supporting the development of customized applications
  • Demonstrated experience in AI, generative AI, and other advanced technologies for business innovation
  • Demonstrated experience in evaluating software vendors against business requirements
  • Ability to work with the business to explore transformative use and applicability of generative AI solutions
  • Comfortable designing and leading ideation workshops
  • Capable of synthesizing diverse inputs into cohesive strategies
  • Strong collaborative skills, capable of working effectively in a matrixed environment
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to balance multiple priorities effectively
  • Proven ability in directing and influencing teams and stakeholders without formal authority
  • Experience with successful execution of projects and/or initiatives, including strong stakeholder management and cross-functional team leadership
  • Demonstrated capability in implementing both incremental and transformative improvements

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cascade Innovation & Change-led initiatives within individual Service Lines, ensuring they align with both the Service Line and firm-wide innovation strategies including leading initiatives to integrate AI and generative AI into Service Line strategies and operations.
  • Gather, prioritize, and advocate for innovative ideas and initiatives from the Service Line, presenting them to the I&C leadership for consideration and alignment.
  • Champion the use of “Edison 365” to capture innovative ideas, enhancing firm-wide participation and idea generation.
  • Guide teams in applying AI for both step-change improvements and transformative solutions.
  • Guide teams in software vendor evaluations and lead teams through the software procurement process
  • Foster an environment where experimentation and innovative thinking are encouraged and rewarded.
  • Lead AI education sessions and practical innovation workshops
  • Facilitate experimentation and prototyping/piloting
  • Develop and manage the business case and measurement of ROI and/or impact of innovation projects and initiatives
  • Report on innovation projects within the Service Line
