DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Consultant / Principal to play a critical role within in our Public Economics practice area.
DNA’s Public Economics practice area offers tailored expertise and analytical tools to help clients to evaluate and enhance policy effectiveness from an economic efficiency standpoint. We support government agencies, international organizations, non-profits, and private sector clients to make informed decisions by providing rigorous analysis of policy impacts and optimizing resource allocation. Our services include designing and developing policies, strategies, and service delivery models that address complex challenges, ensuring the efficient use of resources and maximizing both economic and social benefits.
Our work spans macroeconomic analysis, fiscal policy design and futures modelling, public sector strategy, and performance reviews. Our team’s deep expertise spans health, education, skills development, and social protection. Additionally, we offer specialized knowledge in areas such as alternative payment systems, digital public infrastructure, fiscal sustainability and futures planning, and innovative infrastructure financing. Leveraging our deep understanding of public policy and institutional dynamics, we skillfully operate and collaborate across the intergovernmental landscape.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Development Policy, Development Economics or a related field.
- A minimum of 7-10 years’ professional experience.
- Relevant professional experience in economic consulting, and in the public policy and public finance fields.
- Proven ability to manage research / consulting projects or lead work streams within larger projects.
- Ability to contribute to business development activities, including assisting with proposal writing and client presentations.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative methods.
- Experience in client management and project coordination.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
Depending on the candidate’s experience, the role will be tailored to either the Senior Consultant or Principal level within DNA.
At a Senior Consultant level, the position and responsibilities focus on leading small teams across research projects, leading on technical research and undertaking quality assurance of research inputs. Consultants are also expected to support in managing client relationships across projects and to support business development activities.
The Principal level is a management position within DNA. In addition to exhibiting technical expertise and managing projects and teams, a Principal at DNA has specific business development and client management targets. Principals are also expected to build internal team capacity and capabilities.
