Description:
The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Cloud Consultant to join us in Switzerland. In this role, you will work as a subject matter expert in Red Hat’s infrastructure and cloud technology. You’ll answer questions about best practices around automation, reliability, scalability, maintainability, high availability, and failover setups and lead the on-site delivery and implementation of Red Hat’s technology that delivers freedom, flexibility, and outstanding performance. You will gain an understanding of our customers’ infrastructures, and business issues and you will make recommendations appropriate to their environments. What you will do
- Implement automated, containerized cloud application platform solutions with a focus on infrastructure concerns including networking, storage, virtualization, security, logging, monitoring, and high availability and system resilience
- Serve as a subject matter expert on site, addressing technical, developmental, or strategic IT needs
- Learn new technologies and apply those concepts to customer needs
- Adapt to changing customer requirements
- Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of complex open source solutions
- Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions in a professional manner
- Deliver quality results both on-site and post-engagement that are on time and within the scope of the assigned project, including project journals, status reports, and other standard documentation
What you will bring
- Prior experience working in a consulting role
- Good customer-facing skills; ability to present to customers and lead customer interactions
- Excellent knowledge of infrastructure technologies on a delivery level
- Experience implementing container technologies in an enterprise setting and with enterprise-wide deployments
- Knowledge of one or more Red Hat’s infrastructure solutions like Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or Ansible Automation Platform
- Understanding of the open source community
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and planning skills
- Willingness to travel across the region
- Experience onboarding applications and application teams onto cloud or container platforms introducing DevOps, continuous delivery (CD) and application lifecycle management
- Excellent written and verbal language skills in German and English
- Red Hat Certifications are considered a plus
